Someone was knocking the door at twelve,
When I was sleeping soundly on my cosy bed.
I was panic striken as it was witching hour,
Tried to peep from peephole staying far.
Dark was encircled so everything seemed black,
So I ran with all might deciding not to look back.
But again I heard someone knocking the door,
So I gathered the courage from my hearts core.
So I opened the door and found a guest,
Who seemed shiny and new alike the golden chest.
I welcomed the guest who was frozen in cold,
I felt sorry as I took much time to open the door.
I didn't recognise this unknown guest,
Felt like he was completely new to the world itself.
I asked his name he said 2022,
Ohh.. I said... I was truly waiting for you.
And then we had a celebration of its arrival,
Who is going to bring joy in everyone's survival.
So let's get together to welcome this new year,
And throw away the anger, gloominess and fear.
May this year brings joy and prosperity to you,
And the unexpected success not only for few.
